Re: wood lath

Hi Harry: It is a terrible myth that anything is harder on a CNC than on a conventional machine. CNC's have a digital readout for each axis, and have variable speed power feed. The very best conventional machines have CNC controls attached. There is nothing that a conventional machine does that a CN...

Re: wood lath

I designed and built a CNC milling machine from scratch eight years ago. I did buy some solutions. A minimill head which interchanges with a Porter Cable router. I also bought a 4 axis kit from Xylotex. I got one Manual Pulse Generator from Chris Wood at Little Machine Shop and the rest I built from...

Re: New workbench

Thank you everybody for the kind comments. Sorry I have not been here in a while. The cabinets are indeed the $399 ones from Harbor Freight which were on sale for $359 each. So I bought six of them. Five boxes made the bench and the sixth still has the casters on and holds up the mortising machine, ...

New workbench

I have been away a while and the photos will show you why. Every spare moment while I have been putting in 60 hours per week at work has been eaten up by my new workbench project. I needed more storage space than my previous workbench allowed. Out it went and in went this new bench. It was a lot of ...

Re: Aluminum Flask

OK, everybody try to help me understand something please. Instead of angles with bolts which line up our cope and drag, why not just drill and tap the side of the flask for a bolt on the drag and a closish fitting hole for that bolt on the cope?

Thank you

Re: Parting dust

So the baby powder I use have been planning on using should be reserved for baby's? But it is SO convenient.

Re: Aluminum Flask

Real nice flasks David. I am pretty sloppy. Aren't you concerned about dripping molten aluminum on them?

Re: Big muller, little budget

dallen: Thanks dude, you just saved me a lot of work and time and money and cuss words. Harry: Okey dokey, will do. I will start by removing all the thin sheet metal blades which I was dubious about even while making them. Then I will make a plate like you have and see how it does. My new blades wil...

Re: Big muller, little budget

Well fellas, it is like this. I am not at all happy with my muller. The welds on the mulling blade and plow blade supports are breaking and with water in the sand the bicycle chain falls off and makes me cuss. Then it picks up the whole mix and carries it around the inside of the tub making me cuss ...
