Re: Cincinnati Shaper

The bounce house blower is a brilliant idea. I am looking forward to hearing how well it works for you.
It also looks like you moved your furnace too.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

Since this is DC, I assume it is using brushes. When those wear out, where do you get replacements. Personally I think 24V is iffy. That would be around 7500rpm if voltage and rpm scale linearly. Will the tooth cut depth be a good match for the speeds and feeds you want? Since this is a 300W motor, ...

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

Looking good Dave. Here are the the X and Y tests for mine. Z works too, but I did not get a chance to video it. Working on hooking up the spindle this weekend. Might have it turning, but I will not be able to mount it because I accidentally used my fine pitch tap instead of coarse. So I am on hold ...

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

I think the links you have provided will be enough. I will look those over. The power supply I was referring to in the previous post is the 36V. Is the V- attached to ground or is it floating?

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

This weekend would probably work best to ensure we have enough time to figure things out. If you want to come out some evening this week, I am usually home by 7 but we may only have a few hours to look things over. If possible, can you post a hi res photo of the breakout board. Front and back. Enoug...

Hello from OKC

Since I popped into dallens thread, I probably better say a little something about myself. I met dallen through the Alloy Avenue group and have been lurking here for a while watching DA's shaper build. I went over to his place last year to see it run. I know he has it converted to electric now, but ...

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

You are welcome to come any time DA. Bring the hardware if it is not too much of a hassle. I have an O-scope and some other test equipment we can use to hopefully pin down the problem. If you can get me some docs before hand, that will help. My router is moving now. Working on getting the spindle ho...

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

I will be off for a week in a few weeks. If you are still having difficulties I will come over and put in my two cents.
if there are there any online docs for the drivers or BOB, point me to them and I will take a look at them and see if I can offer any other suggestions.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper

You might want to see if there is a replaceable fuse on the driver board. On the gecko drives that I use, there is a fuse that blows if something gets hooked up wrong. Be aware that it may be a soldered in fuse rather than cartridge type. Look for any components on the board that have names like F1,...
