Re: Refugee from the forum not working

Like the automobile example above, I have watched motorcycles morf from somthing that I considered very attractive when motors were added to bicycles, to some beautiful British bikes, and then to some Japanese copies of British bikes, and finally to the highly refined but outer space looking motorcr...

Re: Refugee from the forum not working

Richard- I have worked with some great architects who were superb at making something normal look exceptional, and at the same time giving credit where credit is due with regards to the engineers who design often times very challenging structures. All too often though, the Architect ignores the engi...

Re: Refugee from the forum not working

Pat, your better off saying that your just a perfectionist in the extreme..anal can go too many directions I think of a perfectionist as someone who spends a lifetime buiding an 1/8th scale Titanic engine complete with every single valve and auxiliary part, and 10 million parts. Or the guy who spen...

Re: Refugee from the forum not working

Hey Pat, I registered on your steam engine forum the other day, got back my confirmation e-mail from you, and now it says my username is not a valid username. My username is/was rasper. R Rasper- I have been flip-flopping about opening it up again, and am not sure what the appropriate thing to do i...

Re: Refugee from the forum not working

Nobody is as anal as I am Pat J   LOL, yes, I see where that could be taken the wrong way. In the engineering world, they use to say "you are anal-retentitive", whatever that means. Then it got shortened to "you are anal". Suffice it to say they were not saying good th...

Re: Diesel Oil Burner

And the new burner in action. It can put more fuel into the furnace than it can atomize, and I am pushing a 1 gph delevan nozzle to somewhere between 2 and 4 gal/hr. I may need to make a larger spray nozzle to get a slower lower pressure flow with more atomization over a larger area, but it works ok...

Diesel Oil Burner

I build a new oil burner the other day. It is rather experimental, but I am toying with the idea of casting a 36" tall steam engine, and perhaps purchasing a larger crucible, maybe a #70 or larger if it will fit in my furnace. So I decided to try and make sure I could melt that much metal, mayb...
