Re: Welcome to FoundDreaming

Thanks Jammer. I think a good application for foundry work is casting parts for steam and IC engines. Many of the model engine casting kit companies that were around just a few years ago have vanished, and that includes a lot of engines that I would like to build, so the only choice for many of the ...

Re: Patterns for Baker Ball Hopper Monitor

The buffing with the sanding sponge does more than just take off the high spots, it actually fills in the low spots, so from that respect, it has an advantage over scraping. One of the problem I have had in the past is that the low spots are very deep, and difficult to fill, so the sanding sponge he...

Re: Patterns for Baker Ball Hopper Monitor

I need to pull the O-S off of its pallet, and remove the flywheel, so that I can skid it up into the shop. I got the little monitor moved into the shop a few months ago. I have some nice car ramps now, so that makes it easier to slide stuff. I never even think about there being humidity down here. I...

Re: Patterns for Baker Ball Hopper Monitor

I tried filling the dog print with some auto body skim coat material, and that did not work well. I tried sanding the print, and that typically just melted the plastic and left black streaks on the print. Finally I tried using a fine sanding sponge in an angle drill, and on low speed, this actually ...

Re: Patterns for Baker Ball Hopper Monitor

Here is a manifold that someone printed on an XL.

Again, most impressive that no supports are required.
