Re: Patternmaking Spade/Paddle Bits
Not very safe! OSHA would have so many guards on there, you wouldn't be able to use it.

Re: Patternmaking Spade/Paddle Bits
Those are cool spade bits, I never would have thought about cutting in the angles like that.

Re: My Hand Planes
I love that area over around Chirpy. I live in a rural area but there are several large towns and cities nearby. I grew up on the family farm and we had some woods. I cut a lot of old walnut treetops left by the guys who cut all the trees out in the late 30's. We used it for firewood, just a bunch o...

Re: Visit to a nearby engine guy.
They had so much stuff, I needed 2 or 3 days to see and play with everything. About 90% of the engines would run and I think he wanted to start them all. The patterns in the picture are for an engine that was under the patterns on the floor. I think he said it was from Bucyrus and the guy only made ...

Visit to a nearby engine guy.
I went down the road about 18 miles to a fellows house that had some hit and miss engines and some steam engines. I didn't know what I was getting into. Re: End of Summer...
Glad you are healthy Richard, hope your wife gets better soon. I have been running a BIG CNC machine. My church bought a 4 foot by 8 foot CNC table. I've been making some displays for classes but mainly we are making beds for kids that don't have a bed. We got mattresses from Ohio State University. ...

Re: End of Summer...
Uneventful summer here. Haven't been able to do any of the things I had planned.
Glad you're building some drums, you have to post some pictures. I was working on a small jigsaw puzzle on the CNC and thought about the puzzle drum you mentioned once. Too many angles.
