Re: Commisioned Life Sized Grizzly Sculpture

Enjoying the break away from this bear awhile! Fingers in both hands feel like there’s an electric charge running through each finger on both hands! Come morning they’ll feel like they’re so swollen and about to burst, it’s almost unbearable. Then after a while they feel near normal again, but like ...

Re: Commisioned Life Sized Grizzly Sculpture

Well, I run out of oil based clay. Ordered another case out of Amazon... due delivery November 3rd.

Just as well. My hands and fingers are aching for a rest!

Also need to order another couple gallons of silicone rubber molding material for when this bear’s done and ready for molding.

Re: Commisioned Life Sized Grizzly Sculpture

Thanks Jammer. I’ll send added photos to Mike since I’ve been keeping him updated on this bear’s progress. If it’s a bother for him to post the pics I’ll send them to you.

Thanks for offering to pitch in and assist documenting this project!

Well that’s a no-go for posting pics. I’m using a cell phone and somewhat technically challenged!

Re: Commisioned Life Sized Grizzly Sculpture

Cae, actually there’s only about 150 lbs of clay so far. Inside there’s a 2x4 stick figure; several rods of rebar bent to give it a foundation of girth; then a boatload of crumpled newspaper to give it some mass; then a wrap of chicken wire; then a coating of spray foam insulation which gave it an o...

Re: Commisioned Life Sized Grizzly Sculpture

Well I’m back. Been gone for three reasons; my wife walked out after 36 yrs, to an old boyfriend she had before we met; also had a MC accident that required experimental surgery to piece me back together. Suffice to say I’m back with a vengeance! In the process of that divorce my ex tried to get hal...

Re: Blacksmithing Bits

I don't know if they'll call me or not... would like to try, at least. 3 hrs is definitely intensely too short of a time frame for anything of any quality. At least they give ya 5 days to do the second phase at your home forge. Here's another photo of a few more knives I did as a set. All my knives ...

Re: Blacksmithing Bits

You guys do good work hammer'n metal. I'd like to learn more of it, myself. There's a show on TV here in the States called: Forged in Fire. It's a competition where blacksmiths compete to see who can make the best knife, sword, etc., in three hours timeframe. They give the contestants length, width ...
