So you could say it is a throw away part unless you plan on making a lot of engines the same.
With all that nice work I would be hanging it on the wall after it has been used

Thanks for the explanation, I had no idea but it makes perfect sense... preloading the stresses the block will be under once assembled but leaving it accessible for finishing.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints the sinners are much more fun...

Personally, I'm only going to use it on a few engines. There doesn't seem to be a plate in the area, so my plan is to share it with the other Hemi nutters in the area.
