Early Thanks

Post by Harry »

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you folks who have signed on to FoundDreaming. Looks like a great start for building a community.

Want to re-iterate again what I see for this place, a few folks have commented on my having nice diggs as in this place. My wish is for this place not become my place but our place. This will be a community forum, as soon as I can figure out how to get that stoopid red color off my name I will fade into the group because I dont believe we need Administrators here. Of course a forum needs someone to turn the wrenches from time to time especially in the early days of setting up but the tone and content comes from the community which is why I see this place as much yours as mine.

Hopefully we will get some folks well versed in php and these forums and even webmaster/graphics artist to help with fleshing out and expanding the site. All in good time though, in case you have not noticed yet my own vision for this site is to become a true community built/maintained/owned site.

Anyhow, thanks again for making this more than a conversation with myself... thats ok for the first few months but then Wilson starts to get all wierd.

Motion carried. I wanted to thank you again though, Its so nice to be able to just upload a picture on the fly instead of digging in photophail or imagebasement. Sure, I have many pics on there, but it was always a hastle and I felt like i needed to pre-type my posts in notepad just to get it right. I still do that, but not so much with the photos anymore. Thanks again Harry!

I must be dumb  Do I still need to use Photobucket? or can I up load stright from My PC.
If I can do it stright from the PC do I just put the img tat at the bigining and end of it's name?

I think I will go and have a look at the way a few others have done it.

I you hit the Post Reply button and not the quick reply, you get a file attachment option at the bottom. Browse your picture file and link it. I think it automagically resizes it for the forum. :)
You can even put caption under it. 8-)

Ok maybe not, Max file size is 2 MiB. :(

It was 2.02 MB so I used paint to shrink it to 291 KB, still huge. 8-)

Yes it does resize for the image that will appear in your post. Rightclick on the picture and choose open in new tab to see the bigger version.

Thanks 4cf, I will certainly keep it in mind. Right now I am good with keeping up with the forum as long as the Q&A captcha works out for keeping the spam bots at bay. One place where I have limited expertise is in adding things like a CMS blogging system or anything more than basic html pages for the site.
