Casting and Blacksmith school at Tannehill

I don't have much info on this but they have a nice set-up.
A large blacksmith shop and school area. Also, 3 cupola furnaces and a crucible furnace. You can make up a sand mold and cast items. There's a jolt squeeze, petrobond and resin sand. I guess I didn't get a shot of the Blacksmith shop, just some of the anvils for students.

Just seen these pics! Looks like a fun day out. I could spend all day +++ looking at things like that.
Is the furnace in the second pic still used?

They have a Blacksmith meeting coming up in Sept. I think the second picture (the one after the jolt-squeeze) is the only one they use. The Octaganal one is small and hard to operate and the one with the black top needs a reline. They cast Iron once or twice a year, I think. It's a little far for me, really far for you!

by god that couplet is large almost as large as the copula i was building not 20 foot from those ones this past weekend. 16 inches duel rows of tweers (10 total). that comes out to 300 ish pounds of iron every 20 mins we ran a 10 incher 3 weekends ago at a slimier furnace in north Carolina. i love molten iron( almost as much as the 30 tons of steel we do at work)

Do you mean you were at Tannerhill, building a cupola? Sounds like a nice large furnace. Would you have the plans or some drawings of the cupola?

That there is a long story it was supposed to be done before we left however you know what they say about the best laid plans. So yes i was there and yes we built or finished the furnace however we are having to take it back to the board because it bridged on us with the first charge

I imagine that bridging can be caused by several different factors. Sounds like a hassle. I wish I could get back down there, shoot, I'd live just outside the gate if I could. Anyone want to buy a house in Central Ohio?
