I lived in Florida for many years. Yes, there are snakes there. I was up in the Ocala National Forest at a fishing camp years ago and saw a photograph on the wall of a guy with a 12 foot long Diamondback Rattlesnake he had shot. (That's 3.7 meters). He was a big guy and the snake's head was bigger than his hand.
We have lots of Boas here where I live in Mexico. They are big, but harmless. We don't have much here in the way of bad snakes, but if you go down a bit farther to Guatemala in the jungle—you don't even want to hear about some of those snakes. I hear that if you get bit on the leg by one of them your best bet is to cut your leg off before the poison has time to kill you.

There were snakes in Viet Nam the GI's nicknamed "two step". Get bit by one of them you went down within two steps and your chances of survival from the vennum was extreemly poor.

Ok it rained here today and the shop monster wouldn't go outside and chase the Easter Bunny so I been playing with Solid Works. Had a guy on another forum send me a sketch of what the ratchet on the shaper is suppose to actually look like.
This is my rendering of his sketch.
not sure if I'm going to make on or not, there is a boss on the leadscrew that I would have to machine off to fit this ratchet to the screw if I do.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
well after making about 4 different attempts at drawing the part in the shown in the last post, and getting it mirrored so that it had both a left an a right side, About 2:30 this morning I was able to figure out how to split it into two separate parts, now to see about creating some G-code so I can see about firing up the CNC router that's been sitting for a spell alone, hiding in the corner gathering dust and see if I can make a pattern.
I found out that the part in the above image wouldn't work the boss for the pawl doesn't stick out far enough for the pin to have a clear path to the gear that it engages. In the last version I made that part of the pattern stick out and inch which should give plenty of clearance using a 5/8" diameter pin.

I've always had trouble with those 3D drawing programs. I've never got one I could generate a g-code from. It's just cuts all kinds of stuff and either bottoms out the limit or breaks my bit.
