we'll see how clean it pulls in the morning after sitting in the sand all night, I rammed it up today but didn't have any help to open the flask (can't do it by myself)

and the crank handle if i had of took the picture from the right angle you would see that its not really so good looking. mold slid sideways and left one heck of an offset on the lever part of the crank.

The shop Monster he just wants to know when I will be done so he can get me back in the house and in the chair.

Hows the shoulder

Shoulder is coming along ok, went to physio today and the physiotherapist is very pleased with my progress, I can lift my arm almost to shoulder height... I'm going stir crazy here, so yesterday I decided to make some machinable wax just to try and keep the brain active

lasst time I made some it caught on fire, should of throwed the mess in the back door and when asked what happened tell em I was making candles and all of a sudden I saw the light.

Good on the shoulder, I have four or five blocks i made of the stuff but the mill eats it up too fast, and it takes to long to make it for it to be a worthwhile endover for me.

OK here's what I been waiting on for about three weeks now. I know its got problems but then so do I, but I have a pulley that I think will work on the first pour. Yes it has some shrinkage on the hub, and there is some hot tearing between the hub and the web between the gussets, but hey guys this thing isn't going to be turning the speed of sound either. And there is one spot that has some sand inclusions but when you get to watch the video it will explain why the sand is there.

WOW! That casting turned out great! I have been checking on this thread several times today and am glad to see somebody doing foundry related stuff!

if I add what I videoed yesterday with todays the whole pour takes about 3.5 hours, only thing missing is the shake out cause my buddy unpluged the extension cord that the camera was plugged into. the part with the gating on it by my calculations weights 17 pounds, I melted about 5 pounds too much material. melt time was a little on the long side as this crucible has been on the shelf in my house for about 3 years so I didn't want to take a chance with it cause to replace it with one this size is about 200.00 bucks nowdays.

The gating scheme was from HT1 on AA, I was going to use 3 gate but he said 6 and gave me the sizes for the rest it. the square splash well was my idea the gate from the splash well at the bottom of the sprue was only about 1X.5 inches with a 1 1/4 inch sprue so it was choked back pretty good to keep from sucking in air.

It's going to take me a while to chop all the video down to a reasonable length so bear with me the video will be posted.
