I'm trying to get back in the saddle with the cad stuff so that I can get the router that I put together up an running and making patterns so I can get to making some of the stuff that I want to do.

I still have to get another ballscrew for the X Axis to fix chatter problem that is casued by trying to drive the X from only one side.

I'm calling this the great failure of 17 September 2014, will post the shake out tomorrow, stuff looked hard enough to know the teeth off a 1 inch carbide roughing endmill.

here's a shot of one of the two parts I casted today in cast iron, will put the video up later but here's the one part in the mill where I've been working on it.

and I almost forgot this one, the little furry bastards are back digging up the yard. Shop monsters useless against them.

here's the video of yesterdays pour, took a while to piece it all together but I finally got er done, all except the last little bit I wanted to stick on the tail end which wasn't any good of milling the cylinder casting.

Alright now to the video.

Looks like fun Dave, parts look good. Hope they don't have bubbles in them.

We are under attack by moles again too. Been fighting them all summer and thought we were done, now they are digging up the whole yard again.

Parts are good so far no holes, I'd loan you the shop monster but he only likes mole's that are smoked and basted in BBQ Sauce.

Cylinder casting milled like butter!!

Well, we have heard of anthill casting... Maybe it is time to start some mole tunnel casting.

I have a few moles in my yard and between 3 dogs panzy and a vicious cat, the moles are safe.

Looking good Dallen. So was the last one a 100% success?

Justin,

The castings on Saturday were good, so far no problems have shown up, no slag/gas holes, and the metal on the cylinder cut beautiful.

The mold of a coffee cup that I tried to ram up on sunday wasn't so successful, body of the cup came out find the loose pieces of the handle sort of fell apart when I unmolded it so no Casting done today.

As far as casting mole tunnels you don't have the capacity to fill the tunnels in my yard with molten metal, but if the get any bigger I'm gonna give the shop monster the 40 and a flashlight and send him underground.

But I think I was able to get in front of the Bagworm battle little bastards were about to kill my black walnut trees. but looks like 10 gallons of H2O and 32 Oz of Bug B Gone gave em a ride they didn't want to take.
