paint it with rattle can primer
I would never have thought of that one Dave.

I did a test casting to day and it all turned out great, the lumps in the bore are due to someone being a tad heavy handed with the core mold and drove a screw driver into the core , I'm not going to name anyone ;) ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzqHBuZebaY

looks good, I would move the gate to one of the two surfaces that will get milled off but that's just me. lump in the bore is easy to get rid of if it messes up the air flow.

I found out that gray primer will take a lot of heat and easy a easy way of stopping sand from rubbing off of cores, plus you can use it to cover things like dross spoons and such.

I tried the Grey primer trick today and cast three more manifolds, the paint worked a treat :) :) Thanks Dave :) :) I'll be putting another boss on the bottom end of the pattern so a balance pipe can be fitted between each maniold for easier tuning

Those do look great. I've never heard of the primer trick, I'll have to try it.

Well my hand is better but not 100%, I still have problems trying to make a complete first and when the injured hand is being used over an extended period it starts to give me grief, soooooo I'm going to try some pattern making and it will probably take awhile to complete, luckily I have plenty of time on my hands. The photo below is what I want to make, but only the pattern at the moment, I won't be doing any more casting as I cannot trust my hand, it freezes in pain at times and I would hate to have a crucible in my hand when it happens, so if and when I get this pattern made I'll see what happens then

just be sure that time is all that you have on your hands

pattern shouldn't be to much of a problem, I can understand the problems that metal casting cause now.

pattern making will be good therapy for the hand.

them ribs may give you some grief in getting them to pull clean how high are they?.

Hope you can find someone to help you out with the casting. I wish I could drop by and pour it for you. Hmm, 9,175 miles.
