I removed her mold a few minutes ago and got a perfect wax. I was not expecting it to be this good, given the complexity of the mold. All of her fingers and toes, and her ear, are intact and perfect. Boy does this make my day.

I made a post about the New Girl a few days ago but it seems to have disappeared. I'll try again.

I got her wax out of the storage tank and I had to finally admit to myself that it was just too thick. So I made a new wax. It came out much better.

Image

I then had to make her back. Here she is lying on the base I made for her. If you bend down and look under her you can see her back, so she needs one for you to see.

Image

I took the old too-thick wax and made a model of her back with plasticine.

Then I welded her new wax back onto her body.

In case you didn't notice, somewhere along the line I broke off two of her toes. ( No one with any sense ever said sculpture is easy.)

When I was in college I thought that being a nice guy was the way to get girls, until I began to notice that the guys who were getting laid were not nice guys. My good friend, who I shared an apartment with, was as mean as a pit bull, and ugly too. He bit a guys ear off in a fight one night out in front of the all night restaurant that we all went to after we had taken out dates back to their sorority houses. The girls talked about him like he was a mad dog. But the cheerleaders and the homecoming queens would come around in the night and blow their horns out in front of our apartment for him to come out and fuck them, while their big shot boyfriends were off in some meeting being important. Of course they married those poor suckers, while my room-mate and I bought a big sailboat and went off exploring the world.

The rainy season ended so I guess I have no more excuses for not casting her. I made a plaster cast a few days ago so I will have something to use in case the rubber mold fails or is destroyed.

Now I will get the wax out of the water barrel and finish up her details.
