Today I fixed my furnace. It´s now mounted on a cool sled. How could I live so long without welding???
Casting today was successful - will continue tomorrow, if the weather is the team. More pictures soon.

Re: Cooming soon: Finishing the sunchariot
That is a really cool project, didnt mantrid do some of the casting for you or did he just work on the waxes? Please post up some of the pictures you already have.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints the sinners are much more fun...

It was a good decision to contact Matrid for producing the horse (the model was done by me). His skills on mold making and casting are really incredible. I learnt a lot since then... Hope it get´s a sellable product... Casting skills developed real fine now - but it took some time.Harry wrote:That is a really cool project, didnt mantrid do some of the casting for you or did he just work on the waxes? Yes, I can tell him. Would be nice to have him here!Nudge wrote:Talking about mantrid, has anyone let him know where we all are
I nearly through with that thing, hope the patina works... It´s a lot easier to create an own art piece than trying to reproduce such an object.

The starting thread is here: http://www.alloyavenue.com/vb/showthrea ... ts-of-pics
The metal work is finished now. I recast the discs now completely as lost wax and they came out real nice. So getting the Copper ring in was very easy now and made the power glue obsolete.
First patination of the horse (looks a bit weird at the moment)
