My wife was for years the director of the office of commissions in Sonoma County CA, where she started the first government programs in the US for prevention of child sexual assault, caring for old folks, and the women's movement. I kid her sometimes. I tell her, "You women sure shot yourselves in the foot. You had it made, staying at home, card parties, shopping, and now all of you are sitting in a crummy office from 9 to 5 just like your husbands have been doing for a hundred years or more." Fortunately she has a sense of humor.

Her end as director came as a result of her work in the field of child sexual assault. She started digging a little too deeply into the actions of one of the members of the county board of supervisors. She was warned, but would not back down. He had her fired. Within a year he was in prison as a child molester.

And that's right were he belongs the asshole . And good on your wife for following it to the end, even tho it cost her her job, here in Australia she would have a case for wrongful dismissal

Actually, she's got a great sense of humor.

I don't know what's it's like there, but here, she can kick you out and you still have to pay the mortgage. Don't ask how I know.
