I check in every day, just don't have anything to report. Still playing with my CNC, trying to get the programming figured out. Still thinking about your bronze drum and I have castings I need to do. Too much stuff going on.
I cleaned up the garage and it was looking great, then I cleaned the basement and now I can't move in the garage again. :(

I look in every day as well. I am in California right now at my metal shaping shop so I have little to say about casting. I'll be back in Mexico at the foundry on October 12.
I used to be really happy when I was up here in the summer for a few months; now I get homesick. I suspect I won't be coming up here many more years. Mexico is home now.
This has the possibility of being a great forum, without a lot of the dabblers that take up some of the space on the other one, but to get something like this started and running, until it gains a life of its own, takes promoting and leadership. Harry and FC must have pressing life situations right now, and I just don't have the available energy for that.

I think if we keep posting, even when we have nothing of great import, it will keep the forum alive until the circle comes back around. It always comes back around—in any endeavor—the problem is that we human beings have a low tolerance for non-immediate results.

I figured everyone was still here, just busy with summer wrapping up in the US.

I obviously didn't have anything to say either, or nothing worth posting about. I've been working 6 days a week for over a year now. Makes for limited time for any project..

One thing I have noticed is that you and I, most of us in fact, have made some real friends here, and one of the things friendship calls for is communication, even when we have nothing of import to say—it keeps the friendship alive. Sure, I'd rather be sitting on the back porch with you all, but that probably won't happen; the internet will have to suffice as our back porch—at least for now.

^^^ Richard, you a right. On another (drum) forum, I've become friends with most and great friends with a couple of the guys there. In fact, one friend and I, just met in person last May at the Chicago Drum show. We've talked so much on the phone and messaged each other that a third mutual friend asked, "How long have you guys known each other?" He was kind of shocked to hear that we'd never met until that weekend. When we did meet, it was a handshake followed by a big hug. This drum show has become more about getting to see friends than it is about the drums and unfortunately it only happens once a year.......

I use my front porch for such occasions and its always open!
