who's doing what for the weekend
Re: who's doing what for the weekend
My Wife had her Gall bladder removed last Friday, shes home and is in a fair amount of pain at the moment. Had to give my first injection today an anticoagulant to stop blood clots forming, the pain drugs are helping her rest and sleep, but I'm staying close to her just in case I'm needed, she has a lot of issues getting in and out of bed , or even walking, Trying to get her into the car to leave the Hospital yesterday was very difficult, you cannot help for fear of causing more pain

Dave asked
Novels are are about the characters (they are usually people, but some good novels have been written with talking animals as the characters), and novels are about the character of the characters. If a book is not about that, it is not a novel. Thousands of excellent books have been written that are not novels. For instance Raymond Chandler's (The Big Sleep) and Dashiell Hamett's (The Maltese Falcon) detective stories. They are not novels, but they are masterpieces of a high degree.
My novel deals with a young man who becomes enchanted with a young girl. She is not a bad girl, but she is—let's say she is a bit more than the young man is capable of dealing with. They come together several times over the years. It has some explicit sex scenes, but it is certainly not pornography. It is an exploration of human character.
To answer the second part of Dave's question, I don't think it would qualify as a romance novel, the same as it would not qualify as pornography. Both of those are both a poor substitute for the real thing.

I have given that question some serious thought. It's a useful question for a writer to be asked.what sort of novel are you writing, hope its not a romance novel.
