Time for Casting

Post by Jammer »

Everyone should have plenty of time to do some casting. Not much else to do. Although it may be fun to put on all my PPE and run up and down the street screaming.

What's everyone else up to?

I'm really working on updating the electric in the kitchen and playing with the 3D printer.

lol, I can actually see one of us doing that, lol. Thats when you need a hazmat suit to do that with, but I think you would be arrested pretty fast for inciting mass panic, lol.

I did a little casting a few days ago, but it was for a job that came into the shop, had to cast some blanks for a motor bracket for a cnc that was machined up and sent out a few days ago. I also got a new laptop, which it's nice having a screen on this one, lol, so have been working on that also, and just working on my T&C grinder in the spare time still.

I have several sculptures I need to cast, but I keep putting it off. One is in wax ready to invest:

and the other is in clay, ready to make a polyurethane mould.

I am beginning work on another wire sculpture right now. I sold this one at the local art exhibition in February:

I don't have the full silver suit anymore but this would be scary enough.

been having weird thoughts of firing the furnace back up as something to scare the new neighbors with, so I had the chance to pick up a becket oil burner for nothing yesterday so I grabbed it,

its missing the control module but for what I plan to do I don't need that anyway.

Sounds like fun, keep us posted. I need to scare the neighbors but I have to finish the kitchen first.
