I made a minor upgrade in the version numbering because there are some changes from the v2 design but not so much for a version change since the parts that are still there are the same as v2
Basically I got rid of a few parts and replaced them with heavy square tube, I beam and a plate. These modifications were some things builders were doing to their machines and they really add a lot of heft to the gantry for just a little extra cost. As a bonus it is easier to put together and adds about 8" to the work envelope in the X direction. Also I was able to lower the price on the kit because of the lower parts count. There are now 15 castings in the kit.
Just finished the welded base prints and did this rendering to show it off. The base is made up in four welded sections that are bolted together. Overall weight of the complete machine is just over 600 lbs with about 450 of that being in the base. This is of course as pictured here, adding the bed and shelving will add to that and stored material will further increase the overall weight.
