thats ok, no hurry, I got to figure out some motor mounts after I get a couple other projects out of the way

need to see about casting some gear blanks but with it a 105 and a burn ban on hard to say when that will happen

thanks MIke, its been a bit of work to carve out the mounts, I still have to figure out what I am going to do on the Z axis but its just a matter of time. I have been looking at some stuff on another site where a guy has done this to a mini mill and may use his setup as its pretty simple except that it uses a belt drive to drive a nut on a stationary screw to raise and lower the head.

still making parts

heres a shot of the Z axis mount its only about half done the big plate mounts onto the top of the column the smaller plate has the motor mounted to it and the hole has the bearings and such for the acme screw that I am going to use.

Looks great Jammer, I sure wish I had the gray matter between the ears to be able to follow the computer codes for a cnc :roll:

I don't Mike, I just use G-code someone else has done. I'm finding programs that convert drawings to code. Some of them work well but if there is a problem, I'm lost.
