I'm going to cast the turtle in Bronze and then maybe try some silver. I've ordered some molding compound so I can do a wax injection. I want to change the snake a little and do a belt buckle. I have 5 other patterns for buckles I'm working on for my son-in-law, all kinds of geeky stuff.

Does someone have a reliable process of making a touchpad work with this machine? I'd appreciate any leads.

Hi Kuckis, welcome. I've not heard of using a touchpad, I did get the X box controller to work but didn't have much use for it yet. Maybe someone else has an idea.

Had some CNC fun last week and a little this week. This is a T-Rex for children's church. He's about 7 feet tall and 10 feet long. I used the pattern for the little desktop Dino and just made it much bigger. I used 2 sheets of 1/2 inch plywood. I had to adjust the pattern for the size of the slots that slide together to hold it all together. I also made some pewter medals for a chili cooking contest. Cut them in machine wax and cast them in pewter. Busy week.

Cool stuff, Im not sure I would use pewter, last time I looked at the price of that stuff, you might as well use gold, silver, or platininum because it would be cheaper than tin it seemed, lol.

Pewter is up to about $30 per pound. I have about 20 pounds and I didn't pay near that much. Picked up lead free figurines and stuff at auctions. Usually pay about $2 or $3 dollars for a box full. I make sure it's lead free pewter or marked with Zinn, which is Tin in German or something. I got a bunch of cups and tankards that were pretty beat up. They were all pewter except one piece I couldn't be sure of so I threw it in the lead pot with my Printers lead.
