Well I think I got all the little green things killed or at least I beat em back thru the fence's for a couple of weeks anyway, god I hate lawns. Now I can get back to what I like doing, playing with the toys.
let me know how you come out with getting an arbor for that face cutter.

Re: My mill
I made most of my back yard into a native garden and it keeps the weeds at bay, its like a mini jungle, even the grass has trouble growing I hope to have the arbor made over the weekenddallen wrote:Well I think I got all the little green things killed or at least I beat em back thru the fence's for a couple of weeks anyway, god I hate lawns. My back yard
Looking through my work shed towards my back gate, please excuse the mess
looking from my back gate towards the house, it there somewhere Just inside the gate just in side the gate and looking left Just inside the gate looking right. My biggest fear is some pr!ck will drop a match over the fence one day, I guess I really should clean up any dead undergrowth

Re: My mill
My Yard is quite a change from the surrounding environment. Outside the fence is all sage brush. jumping cactus and joshua trees if not bare sand. Inside the yard is lush and green when its done up well (a little rough looking right now).
Has taken me more than ten years though, heck it took me ten years to figure out how to grow grass. I had to buy dirt
Looks real good though Mike, I love the privacy.

buying dirt to grow grass, we are talking about cough cough lawn grass aren't we . Ahh, privacy even when you look on google earth at my place all you can see in my back yard is a canopy of tree's, so even with their spy in the sky they cannot see what I'm doing and if I keep wearing this colander on my head they won't be able to read my brain waves ether

Re: My mill
Mike does have a point there Harry, although I do tend to agree with him on the Colander on the head part, my tin foil rain coat is just about ready for the furnace gotta burn all them trapped spywaves, and make me some new dudes.

Re: My mill
Yep, lawn grass My land is sand for the most part so it just doesnt hold water well. I brought in several truck loads of silt taken from irrigation ditches the farmers dig it out to keep their water flowing. Dug the yard down about a foot and filled it in with this good topsoil and now the grass grows like crazy. Cant tell you how many years and how much money I spent on seed and bagged topper spread out for it to simply blow away. This is the mountains here at over 3k foot elevation but it is also desert so it was a tough fight in beating it back far enough to create an enjoyable space.
