Yup... I decided to cut 3 inches off the bottom of this furnace, which now has it a smidge over 21 inches without the lid. The base shown in the picture is a smidge over 6 inches tall, so it's now half that in height. It'll be much easier to lift out a crucible, now. Got the handle shaped and clamped to the lid. Tomorrow morning I'll weld that out, then cut a hole for the intake and weld a sleeve around it to accept my burner/blower pipe, then do a fast mock up of a set of steel flame components to add my signature trademark to this furnace. Gawd I love the smell of hot steel, grinding wheel dust, torch soot, molten metal, and charred molding sand. :-)
