Bear Sculpting is DONE!

Still can’t figure out how to post pictures! Just got done writing a long winded narrative, tried posting pics, and neither the narrative nor photos appear! WTF?

Clay work finally done. Now to give my hands a much needed rest and time to heal from kneading cold hard clay every day this past two weeks.

Attached are the final pictures of the clay sculpt. Once my hands ease off a bit will start the process of piece molding from bottom to top. Then the process of creating wax replicas of each piece and the process of lost wax casting in aluminum, then assembly welding of the entire sculpture.

opefully, this next sculpture will fare better than this recent one did. It’s my hope to do this next one life sized as well.

Sculpture is done!! Now the process of determining how to mold it in multiple pieces. Then make wax copies of each piece to invest in plaster, burn out, and cast in metal. Then weld it all together.

No wonder foundries charge $60k on an average to mold, cast, weld & detail (plus patina) artists works!

These are a couple statues down in Zanesville Ohio. Franks Bear is much better. This guys does a lot of good stuff but the bear looks off to me.
