Kind of hard to tell with you, it may be 3 feet tall.
This one is normal size. I may have given up my oversized ways.

Another coffee cup.

I put some coffee in the one on the left. Plaster. I painted it with pure burnt umber acrylic paint. My maid told my wife it's not coffee; it's hot chocolate. Suits me.

I have made a nice discovery in the patina department. The paint stores down here in Mexico sell a lot of wood stain in a wide variety of colours, both alcohol based and oil based. Much of the furniture down here is made in local shops, so there is a large market for wood stain. I discovered that if I brush on alcohol stain over a cupric nitrate patina, the stain takes to it and stays, creating a nice effect. The cup on the right had a base patina of Birchwood-Casey Brass Black (heavily diluted with water), then a stippled on patina with cupric nitrate, and then several coats of a red alcohol wood stain. Over that I applied a coat of black shoe wax.

This stain has revolutionized my patina world.

The color is very nice. Can't get it to a larger picture, I'm still having trouble with photobucket.

I plan to make some better pictures tomorrow. All I have taken have been at night with a flash. I need some sunlight to capture the colours.

Not sure which one I like better. The green one is kind of traditional but the copper one is a really nice color.
