I don't really have any choices left to check now so I guess I'd better be ordering some new drivers as thats the only thing I haven't tired yet and I don't know anyone that can check the ones Ihave out to see if there is a problem with them.

I've found some that are suppose to be good up to 5 amps for 21 dollars each so guess I'll be ordering three of them come payday.

That's why I take anything electrical to work and ask the electrician to check it out, repair or build, the day I retire I'll be screwed :(

You might want to see if there is a replaceable fuse on the driver board. On the gecko drives that I use, there is a fuse that blows if something gets hooked up wrong. Be aware that it may be a soldered in fuse rather than cartridge type. Look for any components on the board that have names like F1,F2, etc.

DB, no fuse on the board that I can find, and this morning the power light is back on, but drives are still acting stupid. I hooked them up to a little breakout board that I have which is really nothing more then a a DB25 socket with screw terminals but at least I was able to get some movement. So I'm going to hold off on ordering new drivers and probably order up a new breakout board. Your welcome to drop by and take a look see what I've screwed up.

I also rewired the motor cables (using CAT 5 Patch cord) I hooked one pair to each motor leg, not sure that it will help any but I feel better,

I will be off for a week in a few weeks. If you are still having difficulties I will come over and put in my two cents.
if there are there any online docs for the drivers or BOB, point me to them and I will take a look at them and see if I can offer any other suggestions.

with the way things are going the last few days I'll probably still be in the swamp up to my hips in alligators and out of bullets.

I can bring the stuff out to your place I still want to see your project.

and now back to the Shaper, I was able to get the last part that I casted in cast iron fitted to the leadscrew on the shaper and its working like a champ. the handle that I casted the other day is I think on the small side after getting it casted but I'm still going to thread it and see how it works. who knows I get the router working the handle may be the first pattern I get to cut on it if I don't like the way that it looks or fits.

will get some photos tomorrow rained today.

You are welcome to come any time DA. Bring the hardware if it is not too much of a hassle. I have an O-scope and some other test equipment we can use to hopefully pin down the problem. If you can get me some docs before hand, that will help. My router is moving now. Working on getting the spindle hooked up.

I can bring the stuff out to your place as its not mounted to anything other then a plate which is easy to move around, and the motors are still laying on the bench.

I'm free as to when, just let me know whens good for you.

I think I've narrowed it down to the breakout board, the one driver that I though had died the power light is back on green again (well it was). and the big problem with buying cheap chinese stuff is that there is no Documentation, I haven't even been able to find anything that a person can download.

This weekend would probably work best to ensure we have enough time to figure things out.
If you want to come out some evening this week, I am usually home by 7 but we may only have a few hours to look things over.

If possible, can you post a hi res photo of the breakout board. Front and back. Enough resolution that I can make out anything that
is printed on the board. Same with one of the driver boards, if then are not enclosed.

A link to the where you bought the boards from would would be useful as well.

One other thing. Looking more closely at the picture of you setup. It does not look like, from the picture, that you have one of your V+,V- terminals referenced to ground.
Of course it you may have it ground referenced elsewhere. To test that, take your voltmeter and put one probe on a known good ground reference. And touch the
other probe to the V+ terminal and the V- terminal. One,probably V-, should read 0V. The other should read the voltage of your power supply. If you get no solid
reading on either terminal, then your power supply is floating which would cause problems. Also, if floating, check the V+ to V- voltage.
