This is the spindle motor I'm looking at for a new router, but I would have to get a power supply also.
I would hope the DC motor would be a lot quieter than the 1000 db whine I have now.

been working on the screws today, have two of them actually moving under motor power from the computer still need to mount the X Axis screw

Working on hooking up the spindle this weekend. Might have it turning, but I will not be able to mount it because I
accidentally used my fine pitch tap instead of coarse. So I am on hold for bolts.

I'm trying ot figure out how I'm going to mount the X Axis screw and motor. I have one plan but it involves a butt load of milling on a hunk of 2.5 X 3 inch aluminum to get both the motor and the screw support all in one mount, the other way I'm not too sure if I'll be happy with it.

Your machine is looking pretty good, if you need to borrow a tap give me a shout I probably have one. I've been pretty lucky with this and have only broke one 4-40 tap SO FAR.

Anyway I was pretty happy with what I was able to make move today. I did order a new/spare breakout board which has some docs that can be downloaded for it.

I was also able to use my old HP laptop to run the thing today, I'm going to have to do some research into using a Arduino or Rasberry.

thanks Mike, I'm hoping to have it actually cutting something here pretty soon. A Spindle motor is my next big hurdle to find finances for.

been working on something to hang a motor off the front of this thing, SVSeeker gifted me a couple of cutout tools that I am going to use to start cutting stuff with till I hopefully get a regular variable speed spindle motor.

anyway heres where we are at today I had started this mount way back at the start of the build then I found out that the Z wasn't going to work so it got pushed over to the side till today when I decided that by adding one more plate to it I could use it for the motor mount.

I was also able to get in a little lathe time and made the thumb screw that is missing from the Leadscrew Support

That is a lot cheaper than each of them separately. I just don't see what the input voltage is?

looks like 12 to 60 VDC with 65 being the max, so you would need a power supply to run it with. from the spec list looks like the motor operates at 12 to 48 VDC

worked on the X Axis motor, first off let say that the welds on the mount were done by a buddy of mine I just hope they stay together.

Anyway heres a shot of the stepper motor in place on the side of the frame rail where I hope to leave it mounted. Still have to figure out how thick the shim will need to be under the Support Bearing to center it up on the motor shaft. the tail end I plan on making a new rail support that will be wide enough to also mount the tail end support onto.
