I wish we lived next door to each other. We would have fun together.

guess we could kick the sand out of the sand box.

Pulled the rifle apart today and fixed the drag that was causing problems with the trigger, back to being smooth as milk again.

newest houses on the street are the two to the north of me, plus the one on the corner has a storm cellar for people that don't like big winds

still working on trying to learn how to checker, here's a shot of a piece that I did over the last couple of days

Tried out the stand with it just clamped to it what a difference with being able to adjust the angle and height plus turn it into the position you want/need it at.

Mike looks can be deceiving, there's a lot of mistakes in that piece of work. look real close at the right side edge of the checkered pattern just about the middle of the pattern you will see a spot where the lines are not equally spaced, one of those UHOH's that I wasn't able to fix, that's just one there's a lot of others if you had it in hand you would be able to see the screwed up spots.

That's the reason I'm still trying to learn and not checkering the rifle.

Thanks for taking the time to look,

If someone is lookin close enough to have3 a problem with that checkering I think I would bop em in the nose with the butt. That looks great Dave, one thing about small inconsistencies that are difficult to pick out but there none the less is that they show the hand touch as opposed to machine made.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints the sinners are much more fun...

I agree totally with Harry ;)I will admit tho, with the castings that I have made I get rather critical of my own work and can see all the faults

Everyone says now nice it looks but that also done on a flat piece of wood. it gets a 100 percent worst when you throw in some curves like on the forearm of a rifle.
