I read the old "Popular Science" magazines from back in the 1940's and 1950's. They were written for guys who made things. They assumed you had a lathe in your basement. In 1969, they were bought out by a big company. They changed it into a magazine about things to buy. That's when they cut out the Gus Wilson stories. That's when I cancelled my subscription.

All the good magazines seemed to have gone that way. I used to be a big Mother Earth News reader, then they got more and more ads. I finally sat down with a copy and calculated that about 70 to 80% was ads, about 15% was useless information, and the little that was left was some good reading... if you could find it. I don't get any magazines now.

I found an auction on EBay the other day which included the very same part which I had just repaired for the Nylon 66, so I put in a bid on it of $35.00 which I didn't think was too high, cause the only other listing for the part which I wanted was $65.00 which to me was way too high, but then they say the rareity of the parts drive the price. ANYWAY I won the auction for 37.50 plus a couple dollars shipping which I was really happy with seeing as how now I have spares for all the trigger control parts incase something happens
here's a picture of what was included with the part which I was really after.

I also took it out and test fired it tonight so far it works like a new one.

still not a lot going on, but the damn rain did stop and the suns shining (not very warmly either), so I guess I'll see if I can find something to do besides argue with the Shop Monster while I wait on parts that I have on order to show up.

Pretty crappy weather here too. Rain and now getting colder. I have a whole list of things I want to do. Next it will be too hot to do anything.

shop monster has already licked the Teflon out of the skillet and is now begging for more, guess I'm going to have to knock off one of the neighbors cows to keep him shut up.

Man I'm sorry about the snow, it snowed here yesterday but it was over by Arkansas when it started doing it. All I had was rain and cold wind.
