Colt

Oh, and I'm freaking out a little. Your name, David Allen are the names of 2 of my brothers, then your picture has a computer screen on it and the full name of my other brother. Huh, kind of strange.

that's a guy I know that lives out in Nevada, now if you say your brother lives there then things are gonna get real weird real fast.

its a photo of a Webly Wyley target rifle made in the UK around 1879, it is a rotary action, you swing the thumb lever down to the right which opens the breach and cocks the hammer at the same time.

I've only found one photo online but I'm sure that there are more around somewhere. things got a 36 inch barrel on it, must of been made before the UK went metric

thinking 38/55 but may do 40/65, depends on what flavor I'm thinking about when its time to order a barrel, no sense having all the toys using the same shells.

Oh, a new project. I thought it was going to be a repair.

And my brother lives in Denver. He doesn't do anything mechanical. :D

Ok things have been slow and me and the shop monster have been taking advantage of it by parking our butts on the couch, plus its been to cold to do much outside.
I do have the new action pretty much put together and functional, need to do some finessing on the safety notch and a bunch of sanding but have plenty of time to work on that as I still have to find a barrel and some wood for furniture for it.

have also made some progress on the mounts for the tube scope. this is most of the elevation mount that goes on the rear of the tube, this style mount puts the scope off to the side of the barrel instead of on top ljke most of use are used to seeing. The part that's circles in red is dovetailed onto the top of the barrel and the other parts bolts onto it and then by turning the brass knob your able to raise and lower the tube to change elevation. the front mount is used to change Windage, sorry no photos of it.

been working on the front mount, also ordered up some small hemostats for handling the fibers used in making the cross hair module.

the fiber that people use is one strand of filament which is pulled out of some unwaxed dental floss. tweezers have a hard time holding onto the strands. one guy said that he uses the hemostats with some rubber tubing on the ends which insures that the fibers don't slip

OK front mount for the scope.

I watched a Utube video of a guy making this same scope and he said to use hemostats which I ordered and am waiting on their arrival by the postal lady.

I should get some of them also, they would be handy just sitting in the tool box for when ever they are needed
