Yes, there were two people in the car, the driver was unhurt, the co-driver had a dislocated shoulder. Two or three days after that, I saw them interviewed on CNN, if you're interested, you can see part of the interview HERE

Pike's Peak, that's one hell of a two step alright! I love the dirt, watching that video, it sort of breaks my heart that it's all paved now. Anyways, here's a clip from this year's run, it's what can happen when you miss a step.

That's pretty cool alright. I did a little reading about that app apparently, it doesn't operate on the same principle as an IR thermometer rather it measures/estimates temperature based on colour so whatever it is you're measuring the temperature of needs to be black when cold. That's unfortunate, ...

I vote for three different woods, I agree with Harry that too many colours would muddy the effect however only two colours would give too regular a look whereas three would allow for a somewhat random pattern which I think would be pleasing to the eye.

Melting aluminum is really easy, you can get away with almost anything but if you want to eventually melt cast iron, especially if you want to melt directly in the furnace, I think you're going to want something more insulative than just standard refractory and concrete after all, the last thing you...
