I received some new 3D patterns in the mail a couple days ago for the project that I have going on and the damn wind finally decided to let me play

heres a shot of the parts fresh from the hot sands of Choctaw.

I did those pretty quick, the patterns needed to have some sanding done on them which I've been doing for the last two hours, I've also found some areas which will be better off after I go back into solidworks and change the files an make some minor changes.

The Hex looking knob part is what I have to pay the guy that makes the patterns for me, he will throw in a pattern ever now and then that he wants me to turn into metal pieces for him. Which I'm more then happy to do.

first photo is of shop monster doing his thing.

second photo is of the patterns that I used today on the parts that I casted

won't be too long, but probably after a pattern change as I've found some place in the patterns that can do with some tidying up. have some more photos to post in a little while of todays pours, which I'm ashamed to say but the first mold poured way too hot but is usable, and with the spillage that I had the third one poured short but still had three usable parts in it.

will post the photos this afternoon, right now its time to feed the monster!!

sorry he didn't, but its not from lack of trying. I think he's just caught or run em all out of the yard.

The castings did turn out pretty decent except for the one mold that poured too hot, and the one that was a little short of being full.
