nope no investments, although I do have the stuff, but the one time I used it well lets just say that it didn't turn out very good.

the sand that I have mixed up is pretty fine, plus I have been trying to pour a lot colder then I used to which helps with the surface finish anyway it helps with my castings.

Problem with this project I that I have it all together and it won't pump the lube that I put in it, but the stuff is pretty stiff so I may have to round up the stuff to make a hot plate to mount it on, like they do the commercial ones.

I seem to always cast too hot. I think I had a cold pour early on and now I over do it.

Yeah, when I cooled down my Everdur pours I have had much better surface finishes. I used to heat it to 2300 F. and rush the pour. Now I pull it at around 2150 F. and take my time. I figure it's going in at about 2000 F.

Charlie said he wanted a scalping knife for use on the gophers he hunts, so we decided to make him one

made a new nut for the lube sizer today, there is a couple more pieces that I need to make to pressure feed system so that I can increase the pressure on the spring inside the tube. I circled the new part in red.
