was informed by email that the screw that I had ordered has been shipped so we're hopefully getting close to this thing doing something besides eat money and take up space, (hell that makes it sound like Charlie the shop monster)

Charlie is a valuable member of the team! He's a guard dog and a constant companion. Just because he eats and sleeps a lot just means he is doing his job very well. :)

Looks like it's coming together. 8-)

got some work done on the bearing blocks for the Y and Z Axis, nothing fancy some aluminum flat bar fitted with some ball bearings and a snap ring incase they decide to try to come out, which I doubt seeing as how I had to press the bearings into the blocks.

got in a little work on the Y Axis ball screw turned the end so that it would fit my bearing block and threaded it, still need to cut the end off, only need a stub about a half inch long for the coupler to mate to. Screws are about as hard as my EX's heart.

Yellow truck came by the house today and dropped off the ball screw I've been thinking I wasn't going to get till like the middle of may.

got in some work on the Z Axis, cut the screw to fit the bearing block I made and put it in the Slide but now I need some 2.5 to 3 inch long 10/32 Screws to mount the motor with.

and I came home from the hardware store and found this sitting on my back porch begging for chips and paint. finally found out that a buddy of mine needed a small turning job done and it was a bribe to get me to do the five minute of lathe work.

This is the spindle motor I'm looking at for a new router, but I would have to get a power supply also.
I would hope the DC motor would be a lot quieter than the 1000 db whine I have now.

the mini mill that I had a PM motor on it, the rpm of it wasn't very fast but it still made noise. mines going to be parked on the porch when I'm using it, no telling what the neigbhors will think about it.

But then I have to get a router to put on it first, and the way it looks I'm going to have the quitest CNC router in the neighborhood

anyway I got the new Y Axis bearing block just about finished tonight still need to stick it in the lathe and cut the snap ring groove so that bearing can't move. Then it will be time to get the Y Axis ballscrew in and lined up.
