It is a 10 hp motor. I have thought of trying to find a single phase motor, but so far, it is just as, if not more expensive. I'm hoping to get lucky somewhere...
A new rotary phase converter is anywhere from $1000 to $3500. A VFD is a few hundred. All of the single phase 10hp motors have been at least a grand...
I don't know that I could get the building converted. Probably more than I want to spend...
Maybe there is a way to convert the motor already on there.. hmm......

10 hp to run a 16" dia by 10 foot shaft. What Hp would you need to run what your planning on doing. I'm sure it will take some just to turn the gearbox and chuck.

I am pretty sure I can run it just on 220 after I get it started. So it may just be a matter of making a starter to get the motor running.
I have found plans online to make a rotary phase converter, so this may be the route I go. I got time to figure it out... and not electrocute myself..
