This is something you can work with by turning the inside first. I am sure there is some kind of liner you could apply, fiberglass, carbon fiber? Then you could take the outside down to almost nothing and still have structural integrity, I suppose people would just think it was a veneer applique then though and it take away from the charm of being curved pieces.latzanimal wrote:Spot on on the thickness, too! Having the grain follow the perimeter will also make turning on the lathe much better than alternating cross and with grain.
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints the sinners are much more fun...
