Anyway, made it (obviously) but found the house in severe disrepair due all the renters we've had over 6 years that literally trashed the place. Been spending the past two weeks fix'n shit, painting, hauling garbage off the renters all stacked behind my shop rather than take it to the dump (fuckers!!). Carpet throughout is destroyed. Holes in walls, ruined paint inside and outside from unruly dogs without obedience training, all the screens on my sun patio are shredded,, and my yard is destroyed from massive and mass quantity of holes dug by those dogs, to include tree roots exposed of every tree in my yard. I hope and pray I can refill them and the trees survive. Then there's the issue of my garden torn out, fruit trees bone dead, a shit load of my five acre fencing is missing wire that someone decided I didn't need anymore, and all my shop shelving and work benches are missing that I built in custom into the shop. Just typing this turns my stomach again. I'm talking a few thousand bucks worth of damage to this place which our realtor and rental manager swear they knew nothing about nor who could have been at fault.
Like I said... I'm back and this is the welcome I receive. But... this move is it. The wife and I are done moving. If we do it again it will be with suitcases, leave the moving of our shit to hired help both packing and unpacking the load. At least I got all my foundry equipment back in one place again. Just need to rebuild all those shelves and work benches again... after fix'n the yard and house to an acceptable standard of quality. Just spent over 200 rekeying every door lock on the property in case one of them fuckwads decide to slip back here to snag anything else they wished they'd have taken before we got back.
Now, all I got left up North is my '07 DYNA Wide Glide. Once the house is painted and the yard patched, I'll fly back north and retrieve the bike and make a personal road trip out of it so's to sooth my soul and emotional spirits. Figure this fall I'll be firing up my foundry. Got a few projects in mind to kick off the effort with. Meanwhile... the wife's got to get employed... either doing her massage therapy trade or by gawd get a day job. I've carried her and our two mortgages for two years alone on my wages. It's time she bucks up and start carrying her share of the load so I can have time to do what I want and that's sculpt art in bronze.
So... I'm BAAAAAAACCK!!
Cheers,
Fc
