Re: My Daughter

Post by mite5255 »

Hi everyone . Daughter invited us to coffee yesterday and told us that all the symptoms have now gone .She's not out of the woods yet but here's hoping every thing now settles and there is no more issues, She also told us that seeing that she works for the same people as her husband they'll be moving closer to were she and her husband work ( they work for a helicopter company ). the business owner has offered them the house that's on the property where the business is located, that way if she has another incident there will be people closer and her husband won't be far away.
Thanks for your thoughts and advice, if she has another episode they'll then call it MS

Thanks again

Mike

Apologizes for taking so long to get back to you all, I just stepped back for a little while, more so to collect my thoughts ...I would like to thank you all for your kind words , your all wonderful people :D
@ FC His boss treats My Daughter and family as his own and would do what ever it takes to accommodate my Daughter and her family

Now it looks like I have a spur on both of my shoulders so it looks like I'll be going under the knife some time in the near future, but not getting them both done at once. The problem is, the Dr told me if he finds a torn ligament ( nothing showed up on the MRI ) that the MRI didn't pick up he will repair it, there and then, then worst case would mean I could be laid up for four to five months :o :o

I know ya ain't no spring chicken, Mite, but... me neither. Last summer I went under the knife for the same sorta thing, what appeared to be a shard of bone float'n around inside my shoulder joint to include a shreaded tendon and a torn muscle. Other than that i was in good health. I literally had no choice but to wear a sling that totally imobilized my shoulder and arm throughout the day "and" night. Wore that for two weeks and slept on the reclining couch for 3 weeks to keep from disturbing my wife throughout the night every time I'd get uncomfortable and try and switch positions and end up moaning or cuss'n a blue streak. I only missed five days of work... got my surgery done on a Monday morning, went back to work the following Monday. Borrowed the company car that had an automatic transmission 'cause i was right handed and couldn't work a stick shift... well, at least one here in the U.S. :-) But, my only limitation at work was not being able to support more than 10 lbs with my right arm/hand combination with the sling attached. One week later, I pitched that sling alltogether. Spent the next month being "very" careful not to overuse that arm and daily, each evening, would exercise like the doctor told me to do. By the end of the second month I did what i wanted letting my shoulder dictate what its limit was by letting me know instantly if I pushed it too far. Been live'n my life that way since. My shoulder gives me pause now and then, still, but not so often anymore. I can chop wood, grunt heavy loads, ride my Harley, 4-wheel through rougged terrain and tote a heavy backpack across the terrain. I just can't throw a damn ball like I could... yet... which is frustrating to me 'cause I used to pitch hardball throughout my youth in Little League baseball. Up till my shoulder gave out i could literally hunt fish, fowl, and small mamals with nuth'n but rocks in my pockets for ammunition. I barely have any control (even now, yet) with a damn tennis ball at the length of my house and yard. But I'm work'n on it.

That surgery is a good thing if you definately have torn tendons inside. Recovery from it depends on the individual's physical health, mental determination, and committment to the exercise program the doctor stipulates needs to be done each week, month, and throughout that first year. It will take a full year for the shoulder to quit reminding you of the pains it once had due its limitation. It's probably the slowest healing injury a body can have. Just don't push yourself and that shoulder(s) too hard and too fast. I still got 2-1/2 months left of recovery and exercises I need to do. I'm doing alright, but still... my shoulder still lets me know it ain't happy and I still won't trust it to support my weight by hanging from a rung or rope by my hands. Recovery is sllllooooooooowwwww, indeed. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the info Frank :) I'll have to wait as the wife is have a Coronary angiogram in about two weeks, and if they poke another stent in her, she'll be laid up for awhile so I'll have to wait, can't have us both laid up at once, house would end up a mess

Daughter and her family were just here, she said she had another MRI last week and MS has been confirmed :( , Doc said that she is lucky that they've got to it very early and it should be controllable with self administered injections

Its been a real shit time here the last couple months, hopefully it'll all start to settle down soon
