Red touching black is a friend of Jack, red touching yellow will kill a fellow.

We had a snake guy around here named Al Robbins when I was a kid and in fact it seems when everyone was a kid because you ask anyone of about any age over 25 who Al Robbins is and they know because he went to all of the schools in the area educating kids about snakes.

Anyhow here the red touching black snakes are Mountain king snakes, we also have a King snake that is yellow and black. No coral snakes around here though so even if you dont remember the saying you dont have to worry.

Fiddlebacks, this is a brown recluse and yes they are here too. Their venom packs quite a wallop and can be fatal. Been battling the spiders in the shop/foundry for the last month or so and I think I am gaining ground on them :)
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints the sinners are much more fun...

Nothing much venemous in this part of the world (Fortunately)

I get the occasional muntjack dear wandering around and grunting (must find out what they taste like)

Most entertaining visitor recently was a hamster the size of my thumb that made an epic tour of around 1000 yards from his young owners house, toured the neighbourhood and ended up scaling my curtains at 1:00 in the morning. I'd had a few glasses of wine and was somewhat confused shall we say! Caught and returned to owner the next day, little lad was chuffed to get his adventourous tiny pet back.

(I didn't mention that initially I was so drunk I was going to whack it thinking it was a mouse!)

Harry I have a sister that can tell you all you really don't want to know about black widows and fiddle backs (Brown Recluse) cause she wouldn't mow her damn grass she got bit four times one year, someone gets bit more than once yor suppose to learn. I know one lady got bite just above her left eye, problem with spider bites is most of the time you have to let them run their course which is they rot out, its not pretty and damn sure painfull most of the time.
