The noise won't be to much of a problem for me, maybe for the neighbors seeing as how I plan on using it outside so I don't have dust in everything and the parts that I plan to cut won't take 3 or 4 hours to do. I hope.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
that's what i through at the start but i soon got fed up with moving it around the work shop and the drone of the router stopped me functioning on other jobs so ones a pattern is proved i can now leave it on its own never leave a untested cut on its own a missed digit in the g code can have it drilling fore oil or setting of to England i have much scrap to prove it i make a lot of foam patterns for lost wax type casting so repetitive type work

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
the neighbors are still going too have to put up with the noise and I know all about CNC and crashing into the table on a mini mill that I put electronic controls on, the table on it has a nice round spot where I had the plunge cuts screwed up and it went a half inch instead of 50 thousands like I wanted.
But I'm still a long way from cutting wood with this.

I almost did some drilling yesterday. It's amazing how a misplaced decimal point can change things.
I like the idea of a dedicated box to run the CNC in. Dust and noise are the two big problems.

I shut down a extruder with a misplaced decimal point, it came to a dead stop oopsJammer wrote:I almost did some drilling yesterday. It's amazing how a misplaced decimal point can change things.![]()

matter of fact Mike I get along really well with my neighbors, and the closest neighbor they spend most of the time in the house plus where I will mostly run the router at is a good distance from their house so I don't think the noise will bother them.mite5255 wrote:Do you get on well with your neighbors Dave

My neighbors are very close but thus far no one has ever complained about any noise that I makedallen wrote:matter of fact Mike I get along really well with my neighbors, and the closest neighbor they spend most of the time in the house plus where I will mostly run the router at is a good distance from their house so I don't think the noise will bother them.mite5255 wrote:Do you get on well with your neighbors Dave

I've never had mine complain but that doesn't mean that they won't start.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
Worked with SVSeeker thru the weekend, plus ordered up some more parts for the Router Table, I needed the bearings and rails for the Y Axis, the ones I had already ordered were 12 MM and I wanted something a little bigger so I ordered 16 MM stuff and will use the 12 MM parts for the Z axis as they will only be like 9 inches long.
Bought most of the bar stock that I will need plus dug what I had out from under the bench so I have a pretty good pile to make parts out of, but will have to buy some stuff big enough to cut the two arms for the Gantry out of, plus I need a couple feet of 1 X 3 square tube as a spreader in the gantry.
So just a couple more items to order like Ball Screws that I've decided to go with instead of starting with the cheap route of all thread.
