been busy the last few days in between spells with my back.

I made up a poor mans pitot tube last night but haven't gotten it figured out how to make the math work to yet.

I also went and got section of 4 inch PVC pipe that I used to do some air flow checks with, and the best that I could get was with about a 7" long piece of pipe connecting the burner to the blower which gave me a pressure of around 6" WC in the burner tube. I tired a couple of different length pipes to see what the numbers would be and it varied from about 4 to the 6 inch reading that I got with the short pipe.

I took video of the burner in the furnace with it burning and the top open but for some reason windows 8 ate all the videos on my camera ( windows 8 sucks). Anyway going to try to see what it will do with oil tomorrow.

been out in the back yard playing with fire while the neighbor was getting a citation for his grass being too tall.

I got rid of the flex hose and used a short piece of 4" PVC to hook it up to the burner for a test run and to check the air pressure in the burner body which was about 6" WC. I then did a timed burn using preheated waste oil an was able to lower the oil level in my 8 inch diameter fuel tank by 2 inches in 30 minutes using a syphon nozzle an gravity feed.

Here's link the it running when I used compressed air to blow out the oil line when I shut it down.

With six inches of water you should be melting your furnace, not just the crucible full of iron.

rigged up a pressurized fuel can today out of an old 20 lb propane bottle that a buddy of mine had removed the valve from so now I can get passed the gravity feed on the oil.

been fighting with windows 8 for the last few weeks so I haven't done too much with photos but will try to get some posted. also going to take the half the blades out of the spin vane so as to open it up so more air can pass through it.

I've already melted the wall in this furnace once,.

here's a shot of the new compressed air powered fuel tank that I hope to try out tomorrow. you can see the oil delivery tube leaning up against it which is removed to fill the tank with oil.

and a shot of the setup used to measure air pressure in the burner body

still fighting with the nozzle oil's not flowing like its suppose to, thinking I may have an O-ring problem even though I've changed it and put in a new one just the other day.

also found problem with my Thomas air pump where one of the piston head screws had came loose and was hitting the intake valve, fixed it with a 1/4X20 tap and some Loctite

going to town today and plan on picking up some fittings to hook up the pressurized fuel tank that I throwed together and see if that will help, I also cut the pickup tube off about 3/4 of d inch so any trash that gets in will hopefully stay on the bottom and not get picked up.

due to it raining all day long today I dragged the cnc router out and played with it for a spell, working on the wiring, and tried to calibrate the X,Y,and Z axis still have the X to do and work out a couple dozen more bugs but am hoping to try to cut something with it in the next few days.

fired the burner again today with some pretty good results, not sure about the amount of oil burned or the time I had the burner running but from the amount of oil that I pumped back out of the pressurized tank I don't have enough air to run with 20 PSI of air pressure pushing the oil to the nozzle.

Photo of the furnace running with out the PVC that I have adapting the blower to the burner, but not sure I like the short hookup.

That looks like a good set up on the burner.
Is there some instruction on how to hook up the game controller to the CNC? I would like to try that.
