Frank, thanks for the compliment, its just a bunch of parts that I throwed together to keep me busy and off the streets, still working on it. Hoping to have it in colors by spring.

working on small stuff waiting on the weather to warm up some.

Cut some handle scales out for this today, I figured I was building a buffalo gun I might as well have a knife that would skin one.

This should do the trick when I get it filed out, hardened up and sharpened so I can shave with it



handle scales are some unknown to me wood from Africa that I was given, it looks like some Bubinga that I purchased a small strip of a while back. I know its about as hard as my Ex's heart.

got in a little time on this today profiled the scales and cut the pins that will pin the scales to the blade

That sure looks like a buffalo skinner, some day I would like to make a few knives but I could never see making anything like this to sell and would even be hard pressed to give one away It just seems like there is so much that goes into them.

Harry I guess that depends on what you put into one, I'm not making them to sell, maybe give away, but not sell. I'm not like Richard of Frank who actually have artistic talents, I just need something to keep me busy and out of trouble and off the streets. So and old Lawnmower blades gets repurposed into a knife or what I hopes will turn into a useable knife.

The handle on this one is way too big, but actually seems to fit my hand pretty good.

The only advise I will give you is to fire up the shop and make a few they are good at eating up time.

Oh its sitting out there in the drive way waiting on me to get off my ass and work on it, not that I really need to use it, it was given to me in some pretty bad shape which I have pretty much fixed the things that were wrong with it although there are a couple of things that still need a bit of work. and a few castings made to make the parts that are needed, maybe when it warms up I'll get back to it.

And yes it is usable as it sits, I just don't have any work for it to do other then act as a stand for a big milling vise I have mounted on it

Weathers still the pits around here so I been working on this knife some, have the blade just about ready to heat treat
