I made a supply run to the grocery store and got some petroleum jelly, then to the lumber yard where I grabbed a wax toilet ring.
Melted some of all three together and am waiting on it to cool down to see what sort of mess I've made.
If I can get a decent pattern carved out I want to try to cast up half a dozen it a tree. So I may be in the market for some of the composimold stuff if the price on it isn't too high. Guess I could just use silicone caulk to make a mold with.

When I was 15 there was an old woman who lived behind my best friend's house. She was an old devil. One night several of us shit in a paper bag, wrapped some newspaper around it, lit it on fire, put it on her front porch, and rang the doorbell. What a hoot! How come you people get to find things on your porchno one ever leaves anything at my front door. I will admit tho, over the years somethings have just turned up in my shed

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
guess it just depends on who's kicking the bag.

We use to blow letter boxes apart with fire crackers, we thought that was fun, but as Dave says, it depends on who's kicking the can, never thought of burning a turd lol

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
we did a lot of stupid shit on Halloween when I was a kid also.
as far as the wax goes, I remelted most of what I originally started with yesterday morning that ended up too soft and added in another big chuck of the stuff Jerry had sent me, this appears to be about right.
Anyway yesterday when I took it out of the freezer where I had stuck it to cool and pop the plastic box loose from it, with a tater peeler it cut pretty decently without the shattering that was happening before modifying the mix. It also didn't stick to the peeler like the first batch did. will get some photos posted up later today.

If you don't like .600 Nitro Express, how about a rolling block rifle chambered for the .70-150 Winchester? You could bring to life a forgotton cfartridge that never was produced commercially.

Or even better the .50 cal. machine gun cartridge? Talk about a punishing kick. Probably get them cheap from military surplus. Or has all of that been stopped by the Safety Nazis?

I used to buy surplus military .30-06 ammo back when I was a shooter. I bought it for the casings which I reloaded with lead bullets. The one thing you have to watch in the older military stuff is corrosive primers. You have to wash out your barrel with soap and water after shooting it.
Whatever you do will be great fun to follow as you progress.
