Looking good Dave!! Pattern making made easy
wait until you try investment casting the 3d prints directly
Re: Cincinnati Shaper
missing a few bits of gear, or as Mike would say kit to do the investment gig with. need a couple bell jars for one.
I did try investing one pattern that I made a wax off of, and I guess for a first try it was ok but I had major problems like not knowing that the can I used to mold the plaster in needed vent hole in it, things like that. I still have the bag of HydraCal sitting in the front bedroom.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
Bell jars are hard to find and expensive. You could use a pressure cooker bottom with a thick Plexiglas top so you can see.
Re: Cincinnati Shaper
I need to find the link to the outfit that I bought the sight glass from that I put on my oil tank they had them, can't remember what they wanted for them thou

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
guess I better get off my Arse as they say in other parts of the planet, and go dig out the casting that I poured this morning and take a couple pictures for you guys.
Ok we're back with the picture, looks like we had some sand wash loose so its back to the sweatbox, this sands been used for a few years now I may need to jazz it up with some more powder I still have a couple pounds left, wish Harry would stick his head in the door once in a while.
Ok if I make any more of these their going to be made out of something other then aluminum

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
Hey, it's only been a year or so but, I found the picture. I think I was in the back, I drove it on the second dive.
Re: Cincinnati Shaper
I wish. Down here, maybe in December and January when it's only in the mid eighties in the day. Usually our summers are cool due to the rain and the moisture in the ground evaporating, but this has been an El Niño year which means no rainy season for us. Hot as hell. I have been working on my clay girls up in my air conditioned studio and will fire up and pour them in a month or so.the casting has been fun with it not being blistering hot around the furnace.

Re: Cincinnati Shaper
I have always hated being cold, ever since I was a little kid. I weight in at 130 pounds, soaking wet, so I have no built in insulation. If it's under 80 degrees, I'm cold.
