casted a couple of the patterns that I received in the mail today, the big ell shaped part is for the guy that prints the patterns for me, I don't know what its for and I didn't ask.

The two small parts are for a powder measure that a guy I know has and I said why the hell not lets see if we can make one, its only got about 4 parts that those two are some of the 4.

Those look really good, I think you have a firm grip on the casting stuff.

actually I wish that I did have a firm grip on the casting stuff cause the finish on the backside of the big one isn't anything to write home about. one sides pretty smooth, the other not so pretty. and the ones I poured this morning are in the same boat except that I got rid of the shrink problem that I have in the one in the photo. and the two that I poured this morning were poured at about 1250 F. so they weren't too hot. I have a small batch of green sand I may drag it out and get some moisture in it and see if that will change things.

That sure looks like a joint for a chain link fence.

started this a couple years ago, been keeping it around and do a little on it from time to time, its a horseshoe rasp that I'm hoping to turn into something that hopefully will resemble a Bowie knife.
